Consumer-driven strategies from Retail to fork to Minimize food-borne diseases and exposure to food-borne hazards in the European Union (COREMI)

In order to reduce foodborne diseases associated with improper consumer practices, the COREMI project aims to turn food safety related consumer behaviour from passive to active. This will occur by providing tailored, sustainable, and innovative procedures, tools, and technologies that consumers can easily apply and which have a scientifically demonstrated impact on risk mitigation through quantitative risk assessment models for well-defined groups among healthy and vulnerable consumers. Embedding a truly trans-disciplinary and multi-actor approach, COREMI will mobilise consumers, industries, policy-makers in order to co-develop a set of research & innovation activities.
