Project

Development of methods for parallel (epi)genomic and transcriptome profiling of single cells and the application thereof to human preimplantation embryogenesis to understand cause and effect of (epi) genome dynamics in the first days of human development

Chromosomal instability is common in human pre-implantation embryo development. With a survival rate of at most 30% of all human conceptions and more than 50% of all spontaneous abortion carrying chromosomal imbalances, we think that chromosomal instability plays a role in early pregnancy loss. We aim to investigate the origins and effect of these chromosomal instabilities in order to gain insight in early human development.
