Implementation of personalized medicine and pharmaco(epi)genetic biomarkers for costeffective improvement of the therapeutic outcome of lung cancer treatment in Cuba.

This project combines the VLIR-UOS priorities of Public health with the ICT development and environmental policy and management in Cuba. Personalized medicine is one of the main goals of modern medicine in the search for longevity and welfare. Characterization of the Cuban population and the determination of geographic distribution of genotypes and epigenetic biomarkers among ethnic groups and the combination of bioinformatics and molecular tools will allow to improve cost-efficiency of lung cancer treatment in the country.
