Project

Asteroseismology of massive stars based on the synergy between SDSS spectroscopy and TESS photometry data

The goals of the PhD project in question are three-fold: 1) developing spectral classification and analysis pipeline for interpretation of the observed spectra of hot stars (spectral types OBAF, Teff > ~6000 K) both in the optical and near-infrared wavelengths; 2) developing spectral data reduction pipeline for high-resolution optical echelle spectrograph included into the Survey specifically for the scientific needs of the KU Leuven team; 3) exploring scientific data obtained with the SDSS-V instruments in synergy with TESS space-based photometric data to study inner workings and evolution of intermediate- and high-mass stars using aster-seismic and spectroscopic methods.
