Using Sentinel 2 data to depict insectivore bird diversity as an animal-related Essential Biodiversity Variable - REDSTARTlite

The main objective of REDSTARTlite is to use Sentinel-2 data to quantify species-environment relationships of (insectivorous) birds that depict the (bio)physical habitat properties delimiting species resources in detail to deduce an important animal-related RS-EBV. REDSTARTlite will amalgamate recent scientific advances in biodiversity modelling within the science-policy interface of the EBV framework by strongly capitalizing on the technological progress in remote sensing. From this, REDSTARTlite can be expected to yield important insights into the technical and practical aspects of constructing and using animal-related RS-EBVs.
