The Silurian of northeastern Avalonia: a shelf-slope testcase for palaeobasin analysis and palaeoclimatology

Northeastern Avalonia includes many different palaeo-oceanic depths and allows to test hypotheses for the explanation of global phenomena. The Silurian of the little known Condroz Inlier will be examined lithostratigraphically and biostratigraphically (Chitinozoans, other palynomorphs, graptolites). Four transsects will be correlated with the other, more known sedimentation areas of northeastern Avalonia.
