Project

Directed networks as a novel approach for an automated detection of ablation targets in atrial tachycardia

Recently, a novel technique was developed to identify sources of cardiac arrhythmias from clinical recordings. The method is based on network theory and is much more reliable and universal than the existing approaches. The

aim of this project is to translate our methodology to a real-time clinical setting and to apply it during the ablation of atrial tachycardia in order to improve and fasten the procedure. Pilot studies on application of the approach to atrial fibrillation and other important cardiac arrhythmias will be performed. Overall, the researchers want to demonstrate the added value of their technique compared to existing commercial cardiac mapping systems in direct clinical studies.
