Project

Unravelling cross-species transmission of the bovine papillomavirus.

The equine sarcoid is the most common equine skin tumour. The bovine papillomavirus, originating from cattle, has been identified as the main causative agent. This project aims to identify how the virus is being transmitted between these species, whether it spreads between horses, and which additional factors determine equine sarcoid development after exposure to the virus.
