Stochastic modelling and performance analysis of energy efficient protocols for wireless networks

This reseacrh project aims at the development of new stochastic models and queueing models for (components of)WiMAX networks and appropriate techniques for the corresponding performance analysis. We envisage the study of queueing models with multiple servers and server vacations in the presence of both uplink and downlink traffic. Moreover we will study queueing systems in tandem in order to model relay nodes. Such performance models are very useful tools for the performance optimization of WiMAX networks.
