Mastitis in dairy cows has a negative impact on animal welfare

Mastitis in dairy cows has a negative impact on animal welfare, is associated with a massive use of antibiotics and is major economical problem. This project will focus on identification of factors explaining why certain cows are infected and why others are not. Virulence factors of mastitis pathogens will be studied and innovation in prevention will be explored.
