Project

Nature-based solutions for the design of functional and climate-robust urban green in Peru

The overall aim of this research project is to design functional and climate-robust urban green systems in Peru by applying the habitat template concept: We look for potential extensive green roof plant species in the naturally occurring vegetation along the coast and inter-Andean areas of Peru. Additionally, the project will experimentally assess the performance of the plant species in a varied range of green roof systems and by developing a species distribution model this study will determine whether or not this vegetation is able to persist under future 'climate change' conditions.
