When it is infeasible to process queries on a single machine, it is common to disperse data over a cluster of machines. Typically, each machine performs a computation locally and then aggregate the obtained results into the desired query answer. The goal of this visit is to gain insights in hybrid optimization methods for distributed query evaluation in such framework.
