Organisation profile:The unit aquaculture and insect rearing focuses on the development of production systems in aquaculture and insect rearing that are implementable in sustainable, profitable, regional agrifood chains. In aquaculture, emphasis is put on the optimalisation of the production techniques in recircular fresh water aquaculture, with focus on pike-perch. Concerning insect rearing, the potential of insects as source of protein for feed and food is the scope of the research. Their is mainly focused on mealworm and black soldier fly among others.
