Strategic basic research in the field of physical characterization of complex material systems (R-2647)

IOF mandates are mandates of permanent appointment for postdoctoral researchers that offer a structural support in the valorisation of research results of a research institute or group. The function of an IOF mandate is embedded in the structure of a research institute or group and, depending on the needs of the requesting institution or group, can vary between the profile of a business developer to a staff member whose research expertise is essential in order to facilitate services towards companies. Within the application and evaluation of such a mandate, it is indicated in what way the grant holder has an impact on the valorization output of the institute, shown as a function of facilitating services and collaboration with companies, or setting up a spin-off. This IOF mandate was assigned to Jan D'Haen.
