Project

Request for assistance in development of statistical analyses of methods for evaluation of data on antimicrobial resistance in zoonotic agent isolates from animals and food. (R-2121)

Based on the Council Directive 2003/99/EC, Member States (MS) of the European Community are required to collect, evaluate and report data on zoonoses, zoonotic agents, antimicrobial resistance and food-borne outbreaks to the European Commission each year. This information is examined and published by EFSA in the Community Summary Reports, to aid in the identification of trends in the occurrence of the zoonotic agents and the sources of human infections. MS are obliged to report on the occurrence of antimicrobial resistance in Salmonella, Campylobacter, E. coli and Enterococci from animal and foodstuffs. The purpose of this project is to develop statistical methods for the analysis of temporal trends in the antimicrobial resistance data.
