Omics for PATHogenic Yeasts: Host pathogen interactions in Candida vaginitis as established with dual RNA sequencing (OPATHY)

The aim of this doctoral research is to elucidate the host-pathogen interactions in vaginal samples of women with acute and chronic Candida vaginitis as compared to women without vaginitis. For this purpose, we planned to carry out dual RNA-sequencing to detect differently expressed genes from Candida and from the host simultaneously, in clinical samples, i.e., in vaginal swabs of women with
acute and chronic candidiasis and in women that are carriers of Candida without infection.
