Upgrade database Strategic innovation in the Euregio Maas Rhine (R-1823)

The Strategic Innovation Database (DBSI) forms the basis for the development of a unique global research program. Management Strategy, change strategy and policy strategy are its key concepts. The unique design is that one approach is applied and we can test this using collected strategic data from 650 SMEs. The mission of the program is to conduct scientific research that strengthens the connection between management and policy. The program participates in the debate on the relevance of management and organization studies and the scientific quality (Rigor or Relevance, see Gulati 2007). The research focuses on action strategies that contribute on the strategy development and the innovative capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). In the actor's perspective, the central business is the entrpreneur and by extension the consultant (change agent) and the policy maker. The program places itself in the field of the design-oriented research (Den Hertog et al 2007, Van Aken 2004).
