Project

Local probing of low-dimensional dilute magnetic materials.

The proposed research program is devoted to low-dimensional dilute magnetic materials. Model systems consist of transition-metal doped oxides (3-dimensional host), and magnetic adatoms on graphene (2-dimensional host). The main goal is to provide a detailed understanding of the local structure, local magnetism and how they are coupled, using complementary local probe techniques based on intense particle beams (radioactive ions and synchrotron radiation).
