Tinne Dilles

  • Research Expertise:Prof. Dr. Tinne Dilles holds a Master's degree in Nursing and Midwifery (University of Antwerp, 2007) and a PhD in Medical Sciences (University of Antwerp, 2011). During her doctoral studies, she developed the 'Pharmanurse' software program to support interprofessional evaluation of medication use for residents in nursing homes. Since 2007, Tinne has been part of the teaching team for the Master's in Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Antwerp. Currently serving as an associate professor, she plays a leadership role in shaping the scientific trajectory of students. Tinne is responsible for various courses in research methodology and statistics and supervises Master's theses. As an educator and coach, she enjoys working with students at both the Master's and doctoral levels, helping them achieve their goals by creating opportunities for them to make a difference. In her role as the Chair of the department "Centre for Research and Innovation in Care," connected to the Master's program in Nursing and Midwifery, Tinne focuses on building a strong and healthy team that excels in education, research, and service. As a researcher, for Tinne, the link with NuPhaC (Nurse and Pharmaceutical Care) is essential. As the founder and chair of NuPhaC, she has built a robust research team and an international network of experts. Tinne has published over 100 articles in the field of Nursing and Pharmaceutical care and mentors several doctoral students. NuPhaC is a consortium serving as a knowledge and expertise center regarding the role of nurses in pharmaceutical care. It translates the unique focus of nurses in pharmaceutical care into a multidisciplinary collaborative landscape, acting as an intermediary between the user, their environment, and healthcare providers. As a reference network, NuPhaC is a key player making a significant impact on research, education, and policy preparation, aiming to enhance nursing pharmaceutical care in clinical practice. NuPhaC specializes in pharmaceutical care in the areas of medication adherence, self-management and patient education, safety in medication policies, prescription quality, and monitoring the effects of medications. The focus is on the role of nurses, their competencies, and their training in interprofessional pharmaceutical care. NuPhaC, as a pivotal organization, serves as a launching pad for passionate researchers and educators aiming to optimize pharmaceutical care through the latest insights. The connections between research, education, policy, and practice, as well as between different disciplines, are considered fundamental. NuPhaC's intrinsic commitment is linked to questions about nursing care, and collaborating with nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and users to improve pharmaceutical care.
