Flexural behavior of textile reinforced cementitious composites when exposed to high temperatures

The textile reinforced cement composite (TRC) used in this study is a combination of inorganic phosphate cement (IPC) with 2D random distributed chopped glass fiber textile reinforcement. IPC has been developed at the "Vrije Universiteit Brussel" and shows a neutral pH after hardening. By using a fiber volume fraction which exceeds the critical fiber volume fraction strain hardening in tension occurs. The tensile strength evolution after heating and the effect on the stiffness and flexural behavior will be presented in this paper. The data obtained from the tensile and resonalyser tests will be used in a model which enables the prediction of this flexural behavior. In this paper a calculation method is presented to derive the load displacement curves of a textile reinforced cementitious composite beam which is exposed to a high temperature (300°C). The method uses data from experimental tension tests of a similar specimens exposed to the same temperature, to calibrate the material stress - strain model. This paper will not only provide a detailed description of this model but will also present fitted experimental data.
