Ritual Failure Remains?

Book Contribution - Chapter

Subtitle:The Inaccessibility of the Dead (Corpse) in Antigone and in Contemporary Post-Conflict Art
Judith Butler's notion of grievable life is related in this article to the concept of ritual failure, which originated in a context of religious studies and social sciences. Combining approaches from performances studies and literary studies, the article analyses the novel Frozen Time by Anna Kim and the film Elevage de poussière/Dust Breeding by Sarah Vanagt.
