Autonomous self-healing in concrete induced by multiple bacterial metabolic pathways

In bacteria based self-healing concrete, it has been found that homogeneous calcite precipitation induced by bacteria cannot be achieved inside the deeper crack zones due to the lack of oxygen. In this study, multiple bacterial metabolic pathways will be applied to optimize the production of calcite in order to achieve more effective concrete self-healing.
