Molecular mechanisms controlling pre-leukemic stem cells in the thymus

Pre-leukemic stem cells are able to differentiate into mature blood cells but have also retained their long-term self-renewal capacity. It is believed that this pre-leukemic gain of stem cell properties will eventually lead to full malignant transformation and leukemia onset. In this project, we aim to unravel the molecular mechanisms that control this pre-leukemic stem cell activity in the thymus.
