Live cell analysis equipment for the study of biosafety level BSL3 pathogens
Pathogen behavior and pathogen-host cell interactions are highly dynamic. Hence, analysis of live pathogens/infected cells is essential to unravel key aspects of pathogen biology. Currently, BSL3 pathogens can only be analysed post-fixation. Flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy equipment for live cells in a BSL3 facility would represent a major asset for several UGent
researchers working with BSL3 pathogens.
