Innovating for efficient and inclusive value chains in Africa

This project aims at analyzing ongoing processes of value chain innovations and their implications towards efficiency and effectiveness in improving welfare, and at informing the public and private sector in upscaling good value chain practices. To reach this objective, the project focuses on the following research questions:

1 How do technical, institutional and commercial innovations shape the process of agricultural value chain transformation?

2 How inclusive is the process of transforming agricultural production systems into value chain and using them as vehicles to disperse innovations?

3 What are the implications of innovations and the process of agricultural value chain transformation towards efficiency and effective contribution to development?

4 What are the roles for the private sector and the government in creating more efficient and inclusive agricultural value chains?
