Project

Early developmental assessment in infants and young boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. (16.017)

The first aim of this project is to describe in detail and to relate different developmental domains in infants and young boys with DMD aged 0 to 6 years old with current standardised evaluation tools on cognition, language (receptive and expressive), motor skills (fine and gross motor), behavioral and social emotional status in a cross sectional study. A second aim is to detect differences in the trajectory of the boys with DMD over time, from normative and control data, by investigating longitudinal data over 12 to 24 months. Based on this information, we aim to identify specific developmental profiles in young boys with DMD. The ultimate goal is to develop a DMD-specific clinical evaluation tool.
