Treatment options in IBD

Within the field of IBD, a multidisciplinary approach is acquired to provide excellent care. This PhD project consists of various projects within the field of IBD, all of them focused on surgical and medical treatment options. The main prospective trial will investigate surgical versus medical treatment for Crohn's fistula's (PISA-II trial). Retrospective research will focus on the effectiveness of therapy in acute severe ulcerative colitis and on the relation of ulcerative colitis and dysplasia/colorectal carcinoma.
