STRAIGHTSOL: STRAtegies and measurement for smarter urban freight SOLutions (EU386)

STRAIGHTSOL is a 3-year EU funded FP7 project comprising seven innovative cutting edge urban freight demonstrations that ended in August 2014. The objectives of STRAIGHTSOL were threefold: (i) Develop a new evaluation framework for measures applied to urban-interurban freight transport interfaces; (ii) Support a set of innovative field demonstrations showcasing improved urban-interurban freight operations in Europe; and (iii) Apply the evaluation framework to the live demonstrations and develop specific recommendations for future freight policies and measures. The demonstrations represented cutting edge initiatives from leading stakeholders like DHL Supply Chain, Kuehne+Nagel, TNT Express, Colruyt, Delhaize, GS1 and Oxfam and covered Brussels, Barcelona, Thessaloniki, Lisbon, Oslo and the south of England. STRAIGHTSOL contributed to the EC's research agenda and succeeded in reaching its objectives. Website: http://www.straightsol.eu
