OBPWO: Onderwijskundig Beleids- en Praktijkgericht Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek: From occasional to regular truant: an investigation into the profile of truants and the influence of school and environment on truancy (VLO251)

This research studies truancy in secondary education in Flanders. It has the ambition to bring together multiple data that document different forms of truancy. This data comes from the existential literature, but from the administrative databases of the Department of Education, seven databases that we submit to secondary analysis, in-depth interviews with about thirty young people and a large-scale new study among Flemish secondary school students. The focus will be on various types of truants and the relationship between regular truancy and occasional truancy.
