Recyclability Potential of Alkali-Activated Ca-Fe-rich Slag Mortars

Book Contribution - Book Chapter Conference Contribution

Alkali-activated slag mortars were produced. The dosage definition of the activating solution is presented and the effect of replacing sand by slag aggregates on the compressive strength is evaluated. The mortars were milled and recycled into new specimens without any additional binder. Their early and 28-day compressive strength was determined. The recyclability potential was confirmed for mortars using either sand or raw slag as fine aggregate, being fineness identified as a key factor for further optimization.
