Homogeneity, stability and cross-contamination of drugs mixed in the feed and drinking water for group medication in pigs

This project will provide answers to the following questions:

1. How homogeneous are medicated premixes before being mixed and how homogeneous is medicated feed after being mixed by the compound feed manufacturer in the factory or using the fine dosing system at the pig farm, and how homogeneous and stable are these feed in time (i.e. does segregation occurs during transport, in the silo on the farm and during transport within the farm)?

2. How homogeneous are pharmaceutical formulations before being mixed in feed and how homogeneous is feed after mixing these veterinary drugs by the farmer through a dispenser on the feed line, and how remains feed homogeneous and stable up to the moment of intake?

3. How homogeneous are pharmaceutical formulations before being mixed in drinking water and how homogeneous is drinking water after mixing these veterinary drugs by the farmer in a tank or through a dispenser on the water line, and how remains drinking water homogeneous and stable up to the moment of intake?

4. To what extent cross-contamination occurs at the pig farm after administration of veterinary drugs in feed and drinking water?

5. What are the critical factors of the entire chain, from production to consumption of feed and drinking water with added drugs, to guarantee optimal drug delivery in pigs and to control cross-contamination?
