Project

Identification of determinants of antibiotic use and improvement of prescribing behavior using innovative statistical approaches (R-9306)

Antimicrobial resistance is referred to as the ability of bacteria to survive antibiotic treatment, is a worldwide public health problem. In the first part of the proposal, I will evaluate the impact of the European Antibiotic Awareness day (since 2008) on antibiotic use. In the second part, I will evaluate the stability of statistical models to analyse hierarchical data. In the third part, I will use the most stable technique (from part 2) to identify determinants for (inappropriate) antibiotic prescribing in acute cough cases and for declining online training in physicians.
