Improving quality of life in patients with psychotic disorder: a novel technologically enhanced, psychotherapeutic intervention

This study examines the efficacy of a newly developed mobile Health approach called ACT in daily life’ for the treatment of people with a psychotic disorder. ACT in daily life’ amplifies Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with real-time and real-world exercises using a specifically developed app. This study is a proof-of-principle study comparing ACT in daily life’ to treatment as usual in a sample of 100 patients diagnosed with a psychotic disorder. It is hypothesized that extending the therapy into real life may fundamentally facilitate the translation of therapeutic elements to real life circumstances, thus improving treatment effectiveness defined as an improvement in quality of life
