Keeping track of what to do: the contribution of hippocampal activity to short-term memory

Recent event working memory is the important cognitive ability to memorize and evaluate events that happened in the immediate past in order to learn or make appropriate decisions. Using a combination of biophysical research methods and computational approaches, inlc. electrial recordings of brain activity in behaving rodents, real-time closed-loop interentions and optogenetic perturbation techniques, the aim of the project is to identify and characterize the neural networks and their activity patterns that mediate recent event working memory. More details on the specific goals of this project will be added soon.
