Project

Theorizing contemporary higher education: investigating study practices

This research is aimed at the development of a theoretical account of higher education today. The main concern is the question what it means to study today. This happens, more specifically, from a praxeological perspective, i.e. from an investigation into the meaning of study practices. This happens furthermore against the background of a post-disciplinary and domain-oriented approach. The objective of the project is to come to a precise and substantial account of contemporary study practices, to look into particular transformations that are happening today (as a result of societal evolutions such as digitization), and to research the critical potential (i.e. in relation to the possibilities of a transformation of the university itself) that comes with particular study practices (artistic-educational practices, undercommons, Slow Science, service learning, etc.)
