Planar projections in solid geometry education: impact of projection type on performance and strategies for mental rotation by future architects

It has not been researched yet which of the many planar projection methods of spatial situations is best fit for educational purposes. Research in progress of the promotor and co-promotor using a test for mental rotation shows differences in performance for three projection methods. The currecnt research will add to this line of research in two ways: we will investigate the relation between representation and solution strategy, and, moreover, we will carry out the research in a group of students that uses these types of projection methods intensively, namely future archiktects
