Project

Strengthening of operational capacity and training in neuropsychiatry through research in the neurotoxicity of metals in the Katanga mining area.

The mining and processing of copper and cobalt in Katanga (DR Congo) have resulted in considerable environmental pollution by various toxic metals. This interuniversity research project will investigate the possible neurotoxic effects of metal exposures by means of clinical and epidemiological studies among adults and children.
