The impact of strategic sourcing on strategic and financial performance: An empirical analysis of Belgian and Dutch industrial companies

Based on the resource based view, this study examines the relationships between sourcing strategy, sourcing efforts, and strategic and financial performance. A large scale survey with manufacturing firms will test the relationships using LISREL. It is expected that a firm's sourcing strategy contributes directly to the sourcing efforts, which are expected to impact positively on performance. The study will contribute to theory building in purchasing and supply management in an innovative way.
