Effectiveness of management agreements for field and meadow birds (breeding ground, food and breeding success) (R-8699)

In the frame of this study and to answer the requested questions the UHasselt-team will 1) perform a detailed analysis of the space and habitat use of waders and farmland birds; 2) evaluate the breeding success and survival of these waders and farmland birds; 3) investigate the food availability, besides the usual food crops (insects, vertebrates,..) for waders and farmland birds and finally 4) analyse the body condition of individuals via blood analysis. The target species and areas will be identified in collaboration with the client. The environmental effects on the occurrence of these specific species and the effects of related management actions on their distributions will be statistically assessed at three different scale levels.
