Project

Biogenic influences on oxidants and secondary organic aerosol: theoretical, laboratory and modelling investigations (BIOSOA).

In this project, we propose an integrated approach consisting of laboratory, theoretical and modelling investigations aiming to better understand and quantify the role of biogenic hydrocarbons, in particular with respect to the formation of ozone and aerosols and the oxidation capacity of the atmosphere. This project aims to provide a better scientific basis for decision-making (especially at an international level) with regard to anthropogenic emissions of pollutants like the nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds and fine particulate matter.
