Innovative development of alkali activated binders from AMORAS sludge for construction materials.

The drive towards sustainability is shaping our attitudes towards alternatives to Portland cement whose production is energy intensive and CO2 emitting. Thus, there is an increasing interest and attempt both from research and building industry in developing alternative binders with lower associated CO2 emissions. Alkali active binders and geopolymers, among the other alternatives, can replace Portland cement while having a smaller ecological footprint.
