Development of Translational Medicine Models for the evaluation of antidepressant therapies.

Worldwide, new ways are being explored to treat depression based on the rapid antidepressant effect of low doses of the anesthetic Ketamine. Unfortunately, the fast action is generally also linked to the relatively short-lasting effect. To improve the usefulness of such approaches, it is important to investigate why and how the recurrence of symptoms develop and whether the treatment can prevent such relapse. In this project, we want to develop experimental therapeutic models for the evaluation of drugs that can prevent the repetition of symptoms in depressions.
