Optimization of thermoforming processes by means of combined in-situ measurements and simulations.

The present project aims at the development, validation and implementation of a methodology to optimize the process parameters of the thermoforming process through the combinations of simulations and in-situ measurements of the deformations, temperatures and pressures. The project will not only contribute to broadening the general knowledge of the thermoforming process, but it will also shorten the start-up times, make the process more robust and contribute to the improvement of product quality.
