Project

Reintegration of inmates and ex-offenders through employment in an inclusive and sustainable manner.

In the short term the challenges of the project are to (1) Create a frame for orienting inmates and ex-offenders to suitable housing and employment. This frame consists in sensitising and unburdening potential employers in the construction and agricultural sector when recruiting, training and employing inmates and ex-offenders; identifying houses, followed by the setting up of innovative learning environments; energy-efficient renovation of houses with and for the target group with employers from the construction and agricultural sector in such a way that the house meets current conditions for housing the target group; relieving inmates and ex-offenders from practical and social problems so they only have to focus on doing their jobs in an appropriate manner, shaping better life conditions, building up a social network, etc. (2) Alternative financing in the form of Social Impact Bonds, Community Land Trust, Eco System Services and/or cooperatives.
