Cooperation in Interpreter Mediated Questioning of Minors

ImQM (Interpreter mediated Questioning of Minors) is a highly unexplored research area and thus the needs are overwhelming. This research gap is surprising because of the generally high degree of traumatisation in this setting. In Co-Minor-IN/QUEST II the research consortium will therefore organize focus groups with all people concerned with ImQM, professionals but also minors (in experimental settings for obvious reasons). Based on the obtained results, the project partners will compose two toolkits: the first

with questions and indicators to identify the stakeholders to be invited for the joint training; the second to identify the stakeholders’ knowledge before the joint training (“who has which expertise?”). Next, we will design a joint training module for ImQM and several training materials for ImQM that will be piloted. Finally, we will disseminate the findings through:

  • a manual with a description of the training modules and training material
  • a training video for self-learning
  • two animation movies for minors to make them aware of the fact that language should be no barrier to tell their story.
