Chemical dosing platform

In chemistry and related fields, concentration is one of the main parameters that need to be varied in a controlled way. In many scenarios, precise chemical dosing is a challenge without dedicated equipment. Examples include achieving an exact composition of a multiple component vapor mixture, variation of the composition of a liquid flow according to a predetermined profile, ppm-ppb vapor phase concentrations, etc. Automated chemical dosing control is especially valuable when combined with real-time measurements. Often, high-end equipment (reactors, microscopes, measurement cells, etc.) is available but advanced experiments are not possible because a liquid or vapor stream with precisely controlled composition cannot be generated nearby the instrument. This project proposes a mobile chemical dosing platform that will leverage past investments in research infrastructure by enabling new experiments and enhancing the data that can be generated.
