Vector Signal Generator for Future 5G Telecom and Biomedical Applications

The division ESAT-TELEMIC performs research in the area of microwaves, mm waves, and at THz frequencies, targeting a wide range of possible applications, from traditional telecommunications to the more recent use of these signals in biology and medicine. The capability to generate the proper signals is a really basic pillar of the research. In this project a new vector signal generator is applied for. It is able to serve the direct and future needs of the researchers at TELEMIC (and beyond), from antenna and environmental propagation measurements for future 5G telecom scenarios, to sensing at microwaves and millimeter waves in biology and medicine.
