Localization in Nonequilibrium Physics

We develop a coherent and intuitive picture of response for nonequilibrium systems. Our approach is based on studying 'dynamical activity', the natural counterpart and partner of 'entropy production'. Wheres the latter describes adequately response in equilibrium, the former will be playing a crucial role far from equilibrium. We will in particular focus on the phenomena that are most directly linked with dynamical activity: localisation or 'generalised caging effects', and 'negative response'. We will prominently link this with the topic of localisation in quantum physics, which is one of the prime examples and a source o f inspiration.
