Project

Multi-objective dynamic optimization for modeling and controlling bioprocessing.

This project develops advanced numerical strategies for the efficient model based optimisation and optimal control of dynamic processes. In particular, the project focuses on two important but numerically non-standard and non-trivial issues: (i) multi-objective optimisation, i.e., optimising simultaneously multiple and competing costs instead of one single, and (ii) robust optimisation, i.e., ensuring statistically the satisfaction of critical constraints by the obtained optimal solutions despite unavoidable parametric model uncertainties.
