Variational determination of the density matrix for strongly correlated systems

This project will continue the development of a numerical method to solve many-body problems in quantum mechanics. There are three different goals in this project. Improve the formalism, so that a more accurate result is obtained, optimize the efficiency of the algorithm used, and apply it to strongly correlated systems.
